Today is the first Brazilian match in the World Cup and all the attentions, at least of the eventual Brazilian readers of this blog, are caught by the performance of the national squad. While it is not the time for this (not so much for me) awaited event, (although I am also going to watch it), I will try to recount my particular experience on last Saturday when I first skydived.

The truth is that I do not really know how to say it. It was unique, despite this description being a cliché, and that I can say. But the proper description of it goes beyond my writing skills. I do not dare to say it was the best sensation of my life, but it was definitely something singular and stunning.

I do not have photos or footage taken during the fall, because the price to hire it was almost as much the price for jumping again. I preferred to save it for, as already decided, doing it another time effectively.

I did not get nervous at any time (and I am not saying this because I am trying to play the cool), nor when I was at the edge of the aircraft with my legs hanging outside it. I do not understand, particularly, what happened during the first three seconds of the fall. Inside the plane, the instructor told me he was going to do somersaults at the beginning and that should put my thumbs up or down whether I wanted to continue or stop it. I put my thumb down so I could feel the fall, the wind strength, the high speed that prevents you from screaming. Give yourself up to the vastness and keep falling at 100km/h is somewhat incomprehensible for your body and mind. I opened my arms and noticed, at a blink of eyes, that we are falling. And I wanted to continue falling. I just saw the whiteness of the clouds that we are cutting across and screamed only for myself, as if the winds pushed the sound back inside me. And all of it was quick, excessively quick. We fell during 35 seconds and for me it was if only 5 seconds have passed. I wish I could, as soon as the parachute deployed, to throw myself out of the plane again.

Then, the parachuting was as if I was playing in a Ferris Wheel during few minutes necessary to resume myself, looking at the view, wishing I could, as soon as we landed, to go up again, as I child on the slides running to coast one more time. I am definitely doing it again!

It was excellent, quick and provoking. And I learned that, even if you jump off a plane, solutions will not fall from the sky.

Delícia não é?
